Hello, My name is Hope. I am a spayed Boarder Collie Mix. I am updated on all of my shots but I tested positive for
heartworm. Heartworm is a serious disease but it's NOT contagious and IT IS treatable. I contracted that disease
because my owners in Louisiana didn't love me enough to have me vaccinated. My new mommy will be taking me to
the doctor to be treated for the heartworm.
I was a young mother when my new mommy in Ohio heard about me. I was dumped at the shelter by my owners
because I had just given birth to puppies. All of my puppies died because they were infested with worms. I was so
sad that I lost my family and my babies and I didn't even know what I did wrong. There was another mommy dog at
the shelter who also had puppies but she didn't live long enough to nurse her babies. The shelter workers gave me the
babies and I nursed them until they were big enough to be adopted. That never happened, those puppies were gassed
because the shelter had no room. I was next when my new mommy heard about me, and she told the rescuer in
Louisiana to send me to OH. She told me she wished she could have saved my babies, but no one told her about them
until it was too late. I was very depressed when I got to Ohio that my new mommy was so worried about me that she
took me to the doctors but they could find nothing wrong with me. With a lot of love and attention I am now a happy
little girl who loves to play. I ride well in the car and I walk really good on a leash. I would do well in a home with an
active family or a family who just wants a little couch buddy. I love kids and get along really well with all of my
